Workforce ReportAs a unified voice concerned about the future of our workforce, GradStaff and XYZ University have authored this downloadable report (PDF) to examine the aging of U.S. workforce and bring to light the challenges it presents to businesses, industries, and the U.S. economy as a whole.

An estimated 78 million Baby Boomers will file for retirement benefits over the next 20 years – an average of 10,000 per day. The aging of this huge cohort of Americans (40% of the total U.S. workforce are Baby Boomers) will dramatically change the composition of the country.

This report highlights four of the oldest industries in America, but this is only a snapshot; many industries and most companies—large and small—are grappling with the same shortages of skilled labor, dwindling talent pipelines, and a loss of critical knowledge.

The report also features recommendations for improving the odds of talent succession, which is a direct line to global competitiveness and economic prosperity in the United States.

Our hope is that this report can be a guide for employers to fully understand the urgency of the situation and immediately commence the development of strategies to ensure they will have the talent, expertise, and leadership necessary for their future success.
